Poker is a game of skill – many people don’t realize that. It is actually a game that you might want to brush up your skills on and it is certainly a game that you will want to do some research and really think about the game before you dive right in. Bluffing is definitely something that you are going to have to do in this particular game – for that is what the game is all about.

Did you know that there is a such thing as semi-bluffing though? Most people don’t realize this but you can actually semi-bluff and usually get away with it … which is a good thing. Semi-bluffing works fantastic in no-limit games and it is a great tool to have in your back pocket.

For more tips and tricks – stay tuned, I can promise next week is going to be awesome!

You just need to have three cards with the same value, whether they are threes, tens, or aces.

Two pairs is just that — you may have two fives and two jacks between your hand and the community cards. The hand is an incredibly common one. If another player also has two pairs, the player with the highest or biggest pair wins.

One pair is, naturally, extremely common as well, and unless it involves a pair of aces, it is really not worth playing.

High cards mark the lowest hand in Texas Hold ‘Em. It occurs when there are no poker combinations in your hand except for the highest card you have. Again, it is typically not worth it to play this hand.

However, the analyses presented in the next few posts by and large apply to Texas Hold ‘Em.

That being said, let’s take a look at what are considered middle hands and low hands, beginning with the flushes. They are considered medium hands in poker. When the pot is split in a game, you can get a large percentage of the pot with a flush — sometimes. It depends on the high cards you have. Naturally, a straight flush is going to do better than an unconnected flush, and a royal flush will be at the top.

Straights occur when you have five cards that are connected, of course. They need to be successive. You can have straight flushes as well, and straight royal flushes. Straights are actually quite common.

You aim to have fun and win some chips when you play poker. When you are a green apple in the game, you tend to make some mistakes which may get the players on the table raise some brows or may get you out of chips.

We made a simple list for you to browse:

Playing Any Hand You Have

Play and enjoy the game but you need to learn what is the acceptable starting hand for you. Do you think it will be wise to play a 3 Spade with a 4 Diamond?

Jumping Over Your Bankroll

Anything that is too much is not good for you. If you play greedy poker or play way above your budget can afford, count a few months and you will be declaring a bankrupt. Know your limits and stick to what you can afford.

Declare and Change

Like chess, poker is a game of integrity. Declare “raise” and you should raise. Say “call” and you mean call. Your first action is your final action. Play by the etiquette and you will win more than chips while on the poker table.

Mimicking Other Players

Imitate professional players you see on the television and you may end up getting their bad habits as well. Poker is a game where your own decision and habits will count. Your call will win you games and your behavior will be your wall against the other players.

Loving too much the Suited Cards

Suited cards are nice but you need to know how to value your cards. An Ace and a King of different suits are far more valuable than a ten and two of hearts. Remember there is a very low probability for flush.
